Arrival in Lima, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel for accommodation. |
Day 2: Lima |
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, your visit of Lima starts at Historical Center: Plaza Mayor, location of the Government Palace, City Hall, Cathedral and Archbishops’ Palace. You’ll visit the Convent and Saint Francis Church, the largest monumental group in Colonial Art found in America and classified as Humanity’s Cultural and Historic Heritage. The tour includes a visit to the Basilic, that offers 21 altars, cloisters, Capitular and Clementine Halls, choir and a monks library, the museum that exhibits 11 paintings of the Rubens school, the Sacristy displaying paintings by Surbaran and Ribera, the inside patio decorated with 16th century Seville tiles, Moorish arches and catacombs. Then, continue to the elegant residential districts, such as San Isidro and Miraflores, from where you’ll enjoy an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean. In the evening you’ll leave for the restaurant La Dama Juana to enjoy a buffet dinner and taste New-Andean cuisine surrounded by local music followed by a demonstration of the several folkloric dances of the region. Day 3: Lima |
Once you finish breakfast at the hotel you’ll leave with the guide for a discovery of secret Peruvian gastronomic marvels. This gastronomic adventure starts at a typical “Peruvian market”. There, you can appreciate the large variety of local products and enjoy some unique fruits like chirimoya, lúcuma, aguaymanto and the pacae. You also be surprised by the wide variety of seafood, considered as one of the richest in the world. Then, visit an exclusive Peruvian restaurant, where you may prepare your own “Pisco Sour” and the famous “Ceviche” (a well known dish prepared with fish marinated in lime juice and seasoned with local herbs and spices). This will be followed by a delicious lunch that will include dishes representing the typical Peruvian gastronomy. For the evening we suggest an optional dinner at the unmissable Astrid & Gaston Restaurant for a night of revelation for your tasting buds prepared by the famous chef and ambassador of the Peruvian cuisine, Gaston Acurio. Day 4: Lima |
Breakfast will be at your hotel. Depending on your program you may be transferred to the airport or continue your stay in Lima. Meals: Breakfast. |
