Day 2: Lima |
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, your visit of Lima starts at Historical Center: Plaza Mayor, location of the Government Palace, City Hall, Cathedral and Archbishops’ Palace. You’ll visit the Convent and Saint Francis Church, the largest monumental group in Colonial Art found in America and classified as Humanity’s Cultural and Historic Heritage. The tour includes a visit to the Basiclic, that offers 21 altars, cloisters, Capitular and Clementine Halls, choir and a monks library, the museum that exhibits 11 paintings of the Rubens school, the Sacristy displaying paintings by Surbaran and Ribera, the inside patio decorated with 16th century Seville tiles, Moorish arches and catacombs. Then, continue to the elegant residential districts, such as San Isidro and Miraflores, from where you’ll enjoy an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean. Meals: Breakfast. |
Day 3: Lima |
After breakfast at the hotel start this day’s tour with a panoramic visit to the “Pucllana Pyramid”, built in the 4th century AD, and considered the “sacred village” by the Inca. After a short visit continue to the Pachacamac Oracle where you’ll have a guided visit of the splendid Pachacamac Citadel, sanctuary of the God Pachacamac, the creator of the universe in accordance the beliefs of the old Andean peoples. The citadel comprises the temples. Pyramids and palaces. Of special interest are the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of Pacachamac and the “Acllahuasi” or Palace of the Virgins of the Sun. The entire site is considered sacred and part of the world mystical axis. Return to the hotel with free time to have lunch on your owe and discover the surroundings. In the afternoon, visit the Lima’s Museum of Archeology and Anthropology and, later you will find the world largest collection of Pre-Columbian art in the Museum Marco Herrera. The Museum is considered as must visit by all editors and travel specialists and, undoubtly, one of the best Latin American museums. Housed in the residence of the former Vice-Roys of the 18th century and built on top of a Pre-Columbian pyramid dating from the 7th century, the Larco Museum is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Its new galleries exhibit the best and most complete Pre-Columbian gold and silver collections in the entire world. As well, it also has a famous collection of erotic ceramic. Meals: Breakfast. |
